Deputy CM Pravati Parida inaugurates Khandagiri–Udayagiri light & sound show: Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the light and sound show at the Khandagiri–Udayagiri caves on the occasion of World Tourism Day on Sunday. It brought alive the historical and cultural legacy associated with the site.
The Khandagiri-Udayagiri light and sound show is a collaborative initiative of the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the Odisha Tourism Department. The initiative seeks to enhance the interpretation and visitor experience of the historic Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves by combining storytelling, light, sound, and modern technology. Through an audiovisual narrative, the rock-cut caves, sculptures, and inscriptions are presented in an engaging format, bringing alive the historical and cultural legacy associated with the site.

The show will be presented twice every evening—7 pm to 7.35 pm and 7.45 pm to 8.20 pm—in Odia and English. Each presentation is of approximately 16 minutes and 7 seconds duration with a seating capacity of 120 visitors. The visitors can book tickets online through the Odisha Tourism ticketing portal: www.bookodisha.com.
The Khandagiri–Udayagiri light & sound show marks an important addition to Odisha’s heritage tourism infrastructure.
