The government appointed 2024-batch IAS officer Pawan Kumar as Sub-Collector, Redhakhol, in Sambalpur district, after his return from Phase-II training.
The Odisha government on Friday appointed Prahlad Narayan Sharma as Commissioner of the Puri Municipal Corporation (PMC). Additionally, 2024-batch IAS officer Pawan Kumar appointed as Sub-Collector, Redhakhol, in Sambalpur district, after his return from Phase-II training.
In a fresh bureaucratic order issued by the General Administration and Public Grievance Department, 2022-batch IAS officer Prahlad Narayan Sharma will now take charge of PMC. The notification, dated September 11, 2026, also cancels Sharma’s earlier posting as Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Kataka Zilla Parishad, issued on May 4, 2026. His new role will be to strengthen urban services for residents, pilgrims and tourists.
In the same order, the government appointed 2024-batch IAS officer Pawan Kumar as Sub-Collector, Redhakhol, in Sambalpur district, after his return from Phase-II training. The new posting is likely to ensure focused and dedicated leadership for the municipal corporation.
The change comes at a sensitive time for Puri’s civic administration. The temple city handles a year-round pilgrim load, peak festival pressure around Rath Yatra, and the extra responsibility that comes with corporation-level planning—roads, sanitation, drainage, vendor regulation and tourism infrastructure.
