An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 struck Afghanistan early Thursday morning. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km(6.21 mile) said the German Research Centre for Geosciences(GFZ). However, no information about casualties, structural damage or other impacts following the tremor reported.
According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS). The tremor was recorded at 6:59:20 am IST at a considerable depth of 126 kilometers in the Hindu Kush region of the country. Its epicenter was about 165 km north-west of Kabul.
The Hindu Kush is one of the most seismically active regions around Afghanistan and Pakistan.
