Lt. Gen Shamsher Singh Virk assumes charge as Dy Chief of Army Staff

Lt. Gen Shamsher Singh Virk assumes charge as Dy Chief of Army Staff: Lieutenant General Shamsher Singh Virk has assumed the appointment of Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Capability Development & Sustenance), DCOAS (CD&S), at Army headquarters. Lieutenant General Virk will oversee key capability development and sustenance initiatives of the Indian Army.

Before taking up the new appointment on October 1, Lt. Gen Virk served as a Corps Commander on the Western Front. He was responsible for overseeing operational preparedness and military activities in a strategically important sector.

Chief of Army Staff General Dheeraj Seth gave a respectful farewell to the officers retiring from the Indian Army. The Army Chief appreciated his selfless and dedicated service towards the nation.

A day before this, many officers of the Indian Army who had served the nation for a long time were bid farewell with honour.
