Three Friends Consume Poison Over Loss In Online Gaming: In a shocking incident three friends died after allegedly consuming poison following a loss in online gaming. Two lost lives while the third is undergoing treatment in a hospital. Police recovered one of the victim’s mobile phone and is trying to access data.
According to sources, the incident came to light from Garhpadhana village of Nawanshahr district on August 10. The victims were identified as Paramjit Singh Khalsa(13) and Dilpreet Singh(21) who died during treatment on August 11.
The three friends were very close to each other and spent most of their time together. Dilpreet Singh played online games on his mobile and had suffered heavy financial losses. It is suspected that the three friends were in mental stress due to frequent losses in the online gaming. Due to the fear and pressure of the family, the three friends consumed the poisonous substance and committed suicide. The third boy, Maninder Singh(15) is undergoing treatment and his condition is reportedly improving.
A senior police officer, Santam Singh, confirmed that all three were involved in online gaming. Police handed over Paramjeet and Dilpreet’s dead bodies to their respective families after post mortem. Police are examining all aspects of the incident. The incident has raised concerns about the risks involved with online gaming.
