Trump rules out diesel export ban

Trump’s declaration comes amid a record surge in prices for diesel, which fuels much of the modern economy, powering farm equipment, propelling US shipping

Trump rules out diesel export ban: American president Donald Trump on Friday ruled out a ban on diesel export. He said that European countries are ready to supply more diesel in the market and this will help bring down energy prices.

At the White House, Trump told reporters that he himself had asked Europe to make more diesel available in the market. Trump said that Europe has plenty of diesel and is going to make a significant contribution to the world. He added, ‘We are not going to ban exports. We will do what we must.’

Trump said that European countries use more diesel than other regions and that they also have stock; hence, they can provide additional supply in the market. G7 countries agreed Friday to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil from their reserves over four months to ease global energy supply concerns fueled by the Iran war.
