Indian women’s hockey team defeated defending champions China 1-0 in the final at the 2026 Asian Games
CM Majhi announces 11 lakh cash reward for Indian Women’s Hockey Team: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday announced cash rewards to honour the Indian women’s hockey team following its gold medal-winning feat. Each player of the team will receive Rs 11 lakh as a cash prize, while every member of the support staff will be awarded Rs 5.5 lakh.
India defeated defending champions China 1-0 in the women’s hockey final at the 2026 Asian Games. Following the victory chief minister congratulated the team for their achievement and praised the players for their exceptional performance.

The Chief Minister also appreciated the team’s determination, dedication and commitment team on winning the gold medal.

The CMO said that the state government remained committed to supporting Indian Hockey and nurturing sporting excellence. The reward is aimed at recognising the efforts of the players and support staff behind the team’s successful performance.
