Kumkum Mahod clinched gold in individual recurve: Kumkum Mahod creats history by winning gold in individual recurve event at the 2026 Asian Games. She beat Yejin Oh of South Korea in final shoot off. Kumkum won fifth gold medal in the archery.

17-year-old Kumkum Mohod lost the first set 27-29. It was very tough competition but she stayed composed to secure a 29-29 draw in the second set. But India remained behind 1-3 in overall points. The match was very exciting as both players were tied 5-5. So, a shoot-off was resorted for winning a gold medal.

Yejin Oh made a mistake in the shoot-off scoring an 8, while Kumkum scored 10 and won the gold medal. It should be noted that the player who hits closest to the mid-point in the shoot-off is declared as the winner.
