India wins gold, beat Pakistan by 19 runs in Asian Games final: India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in a thrilling final on Saturday at Asian Games 2026. With this victory, team India has clinched its second consecutive gold medal in cricket at the Asian Games.

Under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer India won the toss and decided to bat first. Team India scored 211 runs for the loss of six wickets on the basis of a stormy innings by Abhishek Sharma(68) and Tilak Varma(51). Pakistan could only score 192 for 6 in 20 overs. With this, Team India retained the gold medal while Pakistan got the silver medal. Sri Lankan team was successful in winning the bronze medal by defeating Bangladesh. Abhishek scored 61 runs off 28 balls, hitting three fours and seven sixes. Tilak remained unbeaten on 51 runs off 22 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes.

Chasing a target of 212 runs, at one point Pakistan’s 3 wickets fell to just 39. Shivam Dubey dismissed Sam Ayub in the 15th over and gave Team India a chance to come back. From there, the downfall of the Pakistan team began. However, Hasan Nawaz survived till the last over, who played an innings of 96 runs off 51 balls. He hit 5 fours and 7 sixes. He was dismissed on the last ball. Pakistan team failed to achieve the target as Indian bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings.

The landmark victory against Pakistan has generated widespread excitement among Indian sports fans.
