IPL 2026 To Started On March 28 : The wait is over for Indian cricket fans. The bugle has already been blown for the 19th edition of the country’s biggest cricket festival ‘Indian Premier League’ 2026. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has released the partial schedule of this much-awaited tournament. The exciting journey of IPL-26 is going to begin from next March 28th.
The opening match of the tournament will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Last year’s defending champions ‘Royal Challengers Bengaluru’ (RCB) and runners-up ‘Sunrisers Hyderabad’ (SRH) will face each other in this match. While RCB is ready to start its campaign as champions on its home turf, Hyderabad will be looking to avenge last year’s defeat.
It is worth noting that after RCB won the IPL trophy for the first time last year, a ‘Victory Parade’ was organized in Bengaluru. At this time, due to the large crowd, a chaotic situation arose, in which many people were injured. Since this incident, many questions have been raised about hosting an IPL match in Bengaluru. However, the BCCI has decided to hold the opening match here again after tightening the security arrangements.
The BCCI has not yet released the full tournament schedule. Only the first 20 matches have been announced, which will be played from March 28 to April 12. The main reason for this is the upcoming assembly elections in four major states of the country – Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The rest of the match schedule will be announced later, keeping in mind the security and police arrangements during the elections.
All eyes will be on RCB in this edition as they will be looking to defend their title. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, the most successful teams in IPL history, will be aiming for their sixth title. Both the teams have won the title five times each so far.
Everyone from the players to the fans are excited for this cricketing mega event. It remains to be seen how the excitement of the IPL will hold up amidst the elections.
