All party meeting concludes ahead of 7th Monsoon Session: Ahead of the seventh Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, Speaker Surama Padhy on Monday has convened an all-party meeting to ensure smooth conduct of House proceedings.
The meeting was convened at the Assembly premises chaired by Speaker Padhy. During the meeting Speaker Surama Padhy sought cooperation from both the ruling and Opposition members for the orderly functioning of the House. The meeting was attended by CM Majhi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Leader of Opposition, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader, Opposition chief whip and key leaders across party lines.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said he had sought the positive cooperation of all parties to uphold healthy parliamentary traditions and ensure constructive discussions and meaningful debates on issues of public interest. Leaders across parties agreed on holding constructive discussions on public interest matters and key bills.

Meanwhile, political parties are chalking out strategies for the session. The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will hold its legislature party strategy meeting at 5 pm today. While the Congress Legislature Party will meet tomorrow morning. The Opposition is likely to corner the government on several issues, including the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, alleged printing errors in school textbooks, and the law and order situation in the state.
Meanwhile, security arrangements in and around the Assembly premises have been tightened.
