Senior leader and Legislative Council member Sachin Ahir has formally joined the Eknath Shinde- led Shiv Sena.

Senior leader and Legislative Council member Sachin Ahir has formally joined the Eknath Shinde- led Shiv Sena. Ahir has also filed his nomination for the post of Deputy Chairperson as the Shiv Sena candidate. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar were present with him while filing nominations.
Maharashtra politics faces fresh turbulence after Sachin Ahir joined the Eknath Shinde faction. This move follows after 6 Lok Sabha MPs from the Shiv Sena(UBT) merged with Shinde faction. This was one of the biggest political setbacks for the Uddhav Thackeray camp since the part split. The 6 MPs constitute two third of Shiv Sena(UBT)s Lok Sabha strength. Sachin Ahir was not just a senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader but was considered Aaditya Thackeray’s ‘right-hand man’ in Mumbai, especially in the Worli constituency.
