Ayodhya Ram Mandir prasad awarded ‘BHOG’ certification by FSSAI: Ayodhya’s Ram temple has secured the top ‘Ati Vishist’ rating from Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). The cleanliness and food safety of the bhog prasad offered to Ramlala has now been officially recognized.

FSSAI has awarded the ‘BHOG’ certificate to the Bhog Prasad prepared at Ram Mandir. FSSAI CEO Rajit Punhani, who arrived in Ayodhya on Saturday, handed over certificates to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust General Secretary Govind Dev Giri, Trustee Mahant Dinendra Das and Trustee Krishna Mohan.

Earlier Ramlalla’s prasad used to come prepared from outside. Due to this, the process of giving ‘BHOG’ certificate to the temple kitchen could not be completed. Now after Ramlalla’s own kitchen is ready and prasad is made there, the certification process is completed. Since Ram Lalla’s historic consecration ceremony held on January 22, 2024, emphasis has been made on streamlining and ensuring the  quality of the offerings to devotees.

Assistant Food Commissioner Devashish Upadhyay said that special attention was paid to food safety and hygiene arrangements in the temple kitchen to get the ‘BHOG’ certificate. Apart from conducting medical check-up of the employees, quality of water used in cooking, purity of packaged food and standards of process of preparation of prasad were taken care of.
