The party has kept all its options open for an alliance, although it has indicated that it will keep its distance from the BJP. The candidates who are contesting in the assembly elections will be interviewed personally from June 13 to June 18. The party has started selecting candidates for each seat.

This interview will not be just a formality but it will be mandatory to pass it. It will be necessary for the candidate to meet the criteria of the party before his name will be considered. Chandrasekhar Azad has urged the workers to strengthen the party organization at the booth level and connect directly with the people at the ground level.
