Galaxy Theatre in Bandra closed over license issue: A famous theater in Mumbai has been issued a notice and temporarily shut down over license issues. Bandra police have registered an FIR in connection with the matter.

Iconic Gaiety Galaxy Theatre in Bandra faces new controversy after cancellation of Hanuman Ansh’s show. During this period some people staged a protest as it’s shows were not arranged. During the investigation, it was found that there were several technical malfunctions inside the theater. Apart from this an internal investigation also revealed that the theater had not renewed its license from the year 2021-22. Subsequently, the police immediately registered a case under section 223 of the BNS against the theater management. The theater was closed after notice issued. As a result theatre is likely to incur losses amounting to several crores.

Police sources said that during the protest, some people also tore posters of the movie Mirzapur. When this information came to light, Mumbai Police registered the first case against around 10 to 12 protestors. Hindi biographical-spiritual drama film ‘Hanuman Ansh’was released in August 2026. It is based on the early life of Saint Neem Karoli Baba. It stars Shobhinav Sathya as Neem Karoli Baba. The film is now scheduled for an international release on 11 September 2026.
