Asha Bhosle Passes Away
Popular singer Asha Bhosle passes away. Son Anand Bhosle gave information about the demise. Asha passed away at the age of 92. Yesterday, Saturday, April 11, she was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Asha Bhosle was admitted to the hospital due to severe weakness and chest infection.
Asha Bhosle was born on 8 September 1933 in Sangli, Maharashtra. She is the daughter of renowned theatre artiste and classical singer Deenanath Mangeshkar and the younger sister of the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar. In a career spanning seven decades, she has sung over 12,000 songs in over 14 Indian languages. This legendary singer has received many awards and honours for her contribution to the field of music. In 1997, she was the first Indian singer to be nominated for a Grammy Award. In 2000, she received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and in 2008, she received the Padma Vibhushan.
