- Prepare milk rice (kheer) at home
- First, offer the kheer to Goddess Saraswati

- Seat the child on a wooden stool (chauki)
- Elders of the family should feed the child kheer using a silver spoon and silver bowl
- If silver utensils are unavailable, steel utensils can also be used
