Bomb Threat to Three Courts in Odisha, High Court and District Courts Evacuated: A major security alert was triggered across Odisha on Tuesday after an e-mail threat warning of bomb blasts at three district courts was received, sending shockwaves through the judicial and administrative machinery of the state.
According to officials, the threat email mentioned plans to blow up the district courts of Cuttack, Sambalpur and Deogarh, directing that the court premises be vacated by 2:45 pm. Following the alarming message, authorities immediately swung into action and ordered the evacuation of the concerned district courts, along with the Odisha High Court, as a precautionary measure.
Security arrangements were significantly intensified across all court complexes. Bomb disposal squads, sniffer dog units, and a large contingent of police personnel were rushed to the locations. Extensive search and sanitisation operations are currently underway to rule out any potential threat.
Officials said that the Odisha High Court premises now resemble a police camp, with heavy security deployment and restricted movement. Court proceedings were disrupted as lawyers, judges, staff, and visitors were safely escorted out of the buildings.
Senior police officers are monitoring the situation closely, and cyber experts have been roped in to trace the origin of the threatening email. Authorities have assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
