Many issues including trade, terrorism, artificial intelligence and institutional reform were discussed on the first day of BRICS summit
BRICS Day 2: Modi’s bilateral meeting scheduled with key leaders: Today is the second and last day of the 18th BRICS Summit. Many prominent world leaders will once again gather to discuss major issues. PM Modi is going to hold 7 bilateral meetings.
At 2:30 pm today, PM Modi will hold meeting with President of Kazakhstan Kassym Jomart. At 3:00 pm, Modi’s meeting will be with Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. At 3:30 pm, Modi’s meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al- Sisi. At 4:10 pm, meeting with South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, at 4:40 pm, meeting with the President of Burundi, Evariste Ndayishimiye. At 5:10 pm, meeting with the Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima and at 5:40 pm, meeting with the Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Alupo.
On the first day of the summit, the BRICS countries unanimously approved the New Delhi Declaration 2026. In this, a common stance emerged on many issues including trade, terrorism, artificial intelligence and institutional reform.
