1. Left-facing trunk (Bamamukhi Ganesha): An idol with the trunk turned to the left is considered most auspicious for the house. It is related to the Chandra Nadi, which brings coolness, love and blessings to the family.

2. Right Sided Trunk (Dakshinamukhi Ganesha): Ganesha with right sided trunk is called Siddhivinayak. This is related to the Surya Nadi, which is considered to be very energetic.
Strict Rules and Discipline: Time, purity and special mantras have to be strictly followed in the worship of Dakshinamukhi Pratima. For this reason, they are usually installed in temples.

One should always bring home the statue of Ganesha in a sitting posture while giving blessings.
