BJP National President Nitin Nabin Receives Z-Category CRPF Security
The central government has extended top-tier VIP security to newly elected Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin. Officials confirmed on Tuesday that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will provide Z-category security cover to the BJP chief.
A few weeks earlier, the Union Home Ministry had directed the CRPF to take over Nabin’s security arrangements. Under the new cover, armed CRPF commandos will accompany him during his movements and tours across the country, officials said.
The announcement comes shortly after BJP’s Returning Officer for Organizational Elections, K. Laxman, formally declared the results of the party’s internal elections and handed over the election certificate to Nabin at the BJP headquarters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior party leaders and Union ministers including Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah and Nitin Gadkari were present at the ceremony.
At 45, Nitin Nabin has become the youngest national president in the BJP’s history. A five-time member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, his elevation is seen as part of the party’s strategy to strengthen its organizational base ahead of several crucial state assembly elections.
Navin’s predecessor, J.P. Nadda, was also provided similar Z-category security, which was managed by the CRPF’s VIP security wing. The force currently provides protection to around 200 high-profile individuals, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, members of the Gandhi family, and several other political leaders and dignitaries.
Under the Central Security List, VIP protection is categorized into multiple levels, ranging from the highest Z-Plus (ASL) to Z-Plus, Z, Y-Plus, Y and X categories, depending on threat assessments conducted by security agencies.
