Over 19.8 lakh for Class 12. They will appear in 83 subjects in Class 10 and 121 subjects in Class 12
Class X, XII Board exams to begin on Feb 16: The Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) on Friday released the exam schedule for class 10th and 12th board exams. The board has released the exam schedule 101 days in advance to help students prepare for the board as well as future entrance examinations.
As per CBSE, more than 26.5 lakh students have registered for Class 10 and over 19.8 lakh for Class 12. They will appear in 83 subjects in Class 10 and 121 subjects in Class 12. The board examinations scheduled to commence from 16 February, 2027. All examinations will commence at 10.30 am.
CBSE a statement said, ‘ Date sheets are prepared based on the data submitted in the List of Candidates (LOC) by the schools. As the LOC submission process has been completed and the Board now possesses the final data regarding subject combinations opted by students.’
The board said it had factored in over 40,000 subject combinations to ensure that exams for two subjects opted for by the same student do not clash. It had also provided adequate gaps between subjects commonly taken together in both classes. The tentative schedules of major entrance exams for Class 12 students were also taken into account.
‘Every effort has been made to complete the Board Examinations well before the commencement of such entrance examinations…,’ CBSE said. ‘The examination schedule has been designed to minimise the prolonged absence of teachers from their schools during the evaluation process,’ added the Board.

‘It would also help students, parents and teachers plan their engagements and travel during the summer vacation in accordance with the examination and evaluation schedules,’ the Board said.
