Commercial LPG Cylinder Rates Surge Sharply Over Four Months
Commercial LPG Prices Jump ₹500 in Just Four Months: Amid ongoing geopolitical tensions linked to the Iran-Israel conflict, state-run oil companies in India have sharply increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders.
Public sector oil marketing companies including Indian Oil Corporation, Hindustan Petroleum, and Bharat Petroleum have raised the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹310, effective Wednesday.
Following the hike, the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi has risen to ₹2,078.50 from ₹1,768.50. This marks the fourth consecutive monthly increase, with prices rising by a total of ₹498 since January.
The continuous rise in commercial LPG prices is expected to impact restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that depend heavily on these cylinders.
No Change in Domestic LPG Prices
Despite the steep hike in commercial cylinder rates, there has been no change in the price of 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders. The last revision took place on March 7, when prices were increased by ₹60, taking the cost in Delhi to ₹913.
ATF Prices Remain Stable
In contrast, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have remained unchanged, offering relief to the aviation sector. In Delhi, ATF continues to cost $816.91 per kilolitre (₹96,638.14 per 1,000 litres). Rates in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai have also remained stable compared to last month.
