Massive Participation Expected as 1.56 Million Candidates Register for CUET-UG 2026
CUET-UG 2026 to Begin from May 31 in Computer-Based Mode: The Common University Entrance Test will commence from May 31 in computer-based mode across multiple centres in India and abroad. The examination is being conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to undergraduate programmes in central and participating universities.
According to official figures, a total of 1,568,866 candidates have registered for the examination this year, reflecting a significant rise in participation from students across the country.
The examination will be conducted in various cities across India as well as in 14 international cities located in 13 countries. Overseas examination centres include Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Kuwait City, Kathmandu, Doha, Muscat, Manama, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Washington, D.C..
Officials said all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the examination. Candidates have been advised to follow guidelines issued by the testing agency and reach examination centres well before the reporting time.
The CUET-UG examination has become one of the country’s largest entrance tests, serving as a common gateway for admissions to higher education institutions across India.
