Delhi metro stations to remain shut from 9pm

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC) on Friday announced that metro stations in metro capital will be closed from 9pm today. The development comes ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party-AISA’s planned protest against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar at Jantar Mantar on Saturday.

DMRC said at least 57 metro stations including Rajiv Chowk, Lok Kalyan Marg, Central Secretariat, Janpath, Patel Chowk, New Delhi, Seva Teerth, Mandi House, and Janpath will remain shut. The interchange facility will remain available at all the concerned metro stations except New Delhi metro station. Metro stations will remain closed from 9 pm today and continue on October 10 untill further notice.

The government has also announced shutting railway services to the New Delhi railway station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station in view of the anticipated conjestion on Saturday.

Passengers planning to travel through central Delhi or change metro lines at affected stations should check the latest DMRC service updates before starting their journey.
