LPG Cylinder Price Hiked Again Across the Country
Domestic Cooking Gas Becomes Costlier by ₹29: The price of domestic LPG cylinders has increased again in the country. The cost of a 14.2 kg cylinder has gone up by ₹29 with effect from June 7. In Delhi, the price has risen from ₹913 to ₹942 per cylinder after the latest revision.
This is the second increase in LPG prices within three months. Earlier in March, prices were raised by ₹60 per cylinder. Overall, domestic gas rates have increased by ₹89 during this period.
The hike has been linked to rising global energy prices and disruptions in fuel supply due to tensions in West Asia. India, which depends heavily on imported oil and gas, has been impacted by these global developments.
State-run oil companies were reportedly facing losses on LPG sales, which led to the price revision. Experts say that any improvement in global conditions, especially in the Strait of Hormuz, could help stabilize fuel prices in the future.
