Paytm Payments Bank To Wound Up, Delhi HC Orders: Big blow to Paytm. The Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered the closure of Paytm Payments Bank Limited (PPBL).
The Reserve Bank of India said that the bank’s license had already been revoked due to persistent violations of regulations, and the order is the final step in the process of shutting down the bank. The Delhi High Court, through its orders dated July 8 and July 22, 2026, directed the closure of Paytm Payments Bank under the provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949 and the Companies Act, 2013, RBI said in a statement.
After the order of Delhi High Court, the process of closing Paytm Payments Bank (liquidating its assets) has started. However, Paytm app, UPI, QR code payment, mobile recharge, bill payment, soundbox and other digital services will continue as before. Customers whose money is deposited in Paytm Payments Bank, their money is safe and will be returned as per the rules. But if your UPI is still linked to Paytm Payments bank account, then it should be linked to another bank account. Apart from this, services like Paytm Soundbox, Card Machine, Payment Gateway, Paytm Gold and Paytm Money will not be affected by this decision.
