Harjinder and Gulveer bag silver in CWG-2026: Indian athletes continued to perform well at the Commonwealth Games 2026. On the sixth day, Gulveer Singh and Harjinder Kaur baged silver medals. With this, India’s medal tally has now reached 12. Australia is ranked top with a total of 80 medals.

Gulveer Singh became the first Indian male athlete to win a medal in the men’s 10,000m event in Commonwealth Games history. Gulveer clocked 27 minutes 49.78 seconds in the final lap and took the silver medal for India. Australia’s Kai Robinson won the gold medal with a time of 27 minutes 48.93 seconds.

Weightlifter Harjinder Kaur won a silver medal in the women’s 69kg weightlifting category. She lifted 101 kg in the snatch and 126 kg in the clean and jerk adding total to 227 kg.

Three Indian boxers have also secured their medals. In the women’s category, Preeti Pawar, Priya Ghanghas and Jadumani Singh in the men’s category reached the semi-finals by winning their respective weight category matches.

Preeti defeated Northern Ireland’s Nicole Clyde 5-0 in the 54 kg quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Priya defeated Scotland’s Nia Mitchell 4-1 in 60 kg. At the same time, in the men’s 55 kg weight category, Jadumani defeated Zambia’s Mwengo Mwale 5-0.
