Global Spotlight on Puri as BRICS Summit Brings Together 11 Nations: Puri braces for the second technical summit of the BRICS nations. The summit will be held in Puri from June 3 to 5. Representatives and experts from BRICS countries will participate in the summit and discuss various issues related to disaster management, resilience building and international cooperation.

Puri district administration has made all possible arrangements for the success of this global event. A three-tier security system along with CCTV cameras will keep a close watch on the city.

It is worth noting that such an international conference is going to be organised for the first time in Odisha. Representatives and experts from BRICS countries are scheduled to participate in this summit to be held at a private resort in Puri. Representatives from 11 countries, including Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, will participate in the summit. They will share their experiences and give their opinion on global disaster management and prevention.

Odisha has been internationally acclaimed for its cyclone management, community-based early warning system and successful rescue and evacuation strategies. It is expected that through this technical conference, knowledge exchange, new technologies and integrated working methods related to disaster management among the BRICS countries will be discussed, and cooperation will be further strengthened.

In this context, organising such a technical conference for the BRICS nations in Puri will promote the success and efficiency of Odisha in the field of disaster management internationally and will further enrich the image of Odisha in the world.
