Commercial LPG price hiked by Rs 42, check latest rates: Commercial LPG prices have surged again. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder rises by Rs 42 to Rs 53 across major cities in India. However price of domestic cooking gas cylinders have remained unchanged.
The revised rates has come into effect from June 1. This price change has added a fresh pressure on restaurants, hotels, caterers and thousands of small businesses that depend on cooking gas for daily operations.
Commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased by Rs 42 to Rs 3,113.50 from Rs 3071.50. In Kolkata, the price has gone up by Rs 53.50, pushing the price to Rs 3,255.50 from earlier Rs 3202.00 per cylinder. Similarly Rs 3283 in Chennai, Rs 3,198 Bengaluru, Rs 3290 in Bhubaneswar, Rs 3236 in Lucknow and other major cities the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased.
The price of a 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder has also been increased by Rs 11 and will now cost Rs 821.50 .
The hike comes amid the Centre’s push to strengthen India’s fuel security after supply disruptions linked to tensions in West Asia exposed the country’s dependence on imported energy.
The petroleum ministry has asked state-run fuel retailers – Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation – to prepare plans that would ensure LPG stocks sufficient for at least 30 days of demand.
The move is aimed at reducing the impact of future disruptions and strengthening India’s energy security. Officials have also indicated that efforts are underway to expand crude oil storage capacity.
