Government Reward Of Up To Rs 1 Crore For Capturing Maoist: The Union government has set a target of making India free from Maoism by March 31, 2026, and the deadline is approaching. In this context, about 300 Maoists, including four senior commanders, are under the radar of the security forces, an official of the Ministry of External Affairs informed on Wednesday. However, it is felt that not only the Maoists will have to be completely eliminated, but also the Samaveshi Vikas Sang will have to focus on solving socio-economic problems in the affected areas so that this left-wing extremist ideology does not rise again. The four top members of the banned CPI (Maoist) Central Committee (CC) are Shishir Besra alias Bhaskar, Debaji alias Kumbh Dada alias Chetan, Ramanna alias Ganapati alias Laxman Rao and Mullah Raja Reddy alias Sagar.
Security agencies are busy in capturing them dead or alive. A major operation has been launched in the area after intelligence inputs were received on Tuesday about the presence of Devji and his second-in-command Kesha Sodhi on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. Officials said that except for Reddy, who has gone into hiding in Odisha, all the other senior commanders are active in the area. All of them should not surrender. It was revealed that the Home Ministry had said in October 2025 that Maoism was confined to Bijapur, Sukma and Narayanpur districts of Chhattisgarh. The number of districts affected by the Red Army has come down to 11 from 18, the ministry claimed in a statement. Therefore, operations are being carried out on a war footing with the aim of uprooting Maoists from India before the start of the new financial year. Currently, combing has been intensified in the Bastar division of Chhattisgarh, Sukma and Bijapur districts and the Odisha-Chhattisgarh-Telangana border area.
