Contractual schematic junior teachers regularised by Odisha govt
Government’s big announcement: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took a big decision on Friday. The government has said that the contractual Schematic Junior Teachers will be given regular employee status. The government has announced that this regular status will be implemented from the time of joining the job. The employees will get regular status retrospectively from January 1, 2026.
The junior teachers in this category appointed in 2023-24 will be regular. The government has said that over 13,000 schematic teachers will benefit from this.
As per the policy decision, the JUNIOR TEACHER will receive Notional Benefits till December 31, 2025, from their date of appointment. However, they will start receiving full salary and all other benefits equivalent to regular government employees from January 1, 2026.
The move is expected to benefit more than 13,000 junior teachers across Odisha, addressing long-standing demands for job security and better service conditions.
Notably, the Chief Minister had earlier announced plans to regularise these teachers. With the decision now implemented, it has brought a wave of happiness among educators, who see it as a major step towards strengthening the State’s education system.
