ICC Penalises Pakistan’s Mohammad Nawaz Over Doping Violation
ICC Removes Mohammad Nawaz’s Match Records After Doping Case: Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz has been found guilty of violating the ICC’s anti-doping rules after testing positive for Carboxy-THC, a banned narcotic substance. The test was conducted during Pakistan’s match against the Netherlands in February 2026.
Nawaz admitted the violation but said the substance was not used to improve his performance and was unrelated to cricket.
The ICC initially handed him a three-month suspension, effective from May 1, 2026. However, after completing a substance abuse rehabilitation programme, his ban was reduced to one month, making him eligible to return to cricket.
The ICC has also ruled that all of Nawaz’s performances between February 7 and May 1, 2026, will be removed from the official records. During that period, he played seven international matches, scoring 15 runs and taking seven wickets.
