IMD Forecasts Rain, Thunderstorms Across Several States: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread rainfall across several parts of the country over the next few days. Due to the impact of a Western Disturbance, Northwest India is likely to receive rain, thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds, and hailstorms until June 13. Heavy rainfall is also expected in parts of Northeast India, West Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

The southwest monsoon is expected to advance further into Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and the remaining parts of Tamil Nadu over the next three to four days. It may also reach parts of Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands due to the possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, heatwave conditions are likely to continue in parts of Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Dust storms may also occur at isolated places in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
