The Ministry of External Affairs has intensified the operation to rescue the missing Indians. Our Embassy in Oman is closely monitoring the situation and is actively working with Omani authorities in the ongoing search and rescue operation, added MEA.
A commercial vessel, Settebello, carrying 24 Indian crew members, was attacked in US airstrikes off the coast of Oman. On the other hand, India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Jason Meeks, the US Embassy’s deputy chief of mission in New Delhi.
Talking about the incident, the Ministry of External Affairs said that the frequent attacks on ships in the area are very alarming and are a direct result of the ongoing conflict in the area. We urge all parties to ease tensions and continue negotiations for a peaceful solution, so that peace and stability can return to the region.
