Rain, Thunderstorm Alert Issued for 11 States Across India
IMD Issues Rain and Thunderstorm Alert for 11 States, Strong Winds Likely: The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning for rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in several parts of the country, including Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. According to the weather department, nearly 11 states are likely to witness unstable weather conditions today, with strong winds blowing at speeds of 65 to 70 kilometres per hour in some areas.
The department has warned that eastern India may face severe thunderstorms and lightning activity, which could lead to damage to property, trees, and standing crops. Farmers have been advised to remain alert and take necessary precautions to protect their crops from heavy rain and gusty winds. Several districts in hill states have also been placed under bad weather alert due to the possibility of intense rainfall and thunderstorms.
Meteorologists said the changing weather pattern is being influenced by an upper air cyclonic circulation active over western Rajasthan and nearby regions. Another cyclonic circulation has formed over southwestern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas at the lower tropospheric level. These systems are expected to increase moisture and trigger widespread rainfall activity across multiple states over the next few days.
