Shreyas Iyer Leads India T20 Side; Vaibhav Suryavanshi Selected
India Announces T20 Squad; Shreyas Iyer Named Captain: The BCCI has announced India’s T20 squad for the upcoming UK tour in June 2026. The team will first play a two-match T20 series against Ireland, followed by a five-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series against England.
Shreyas Iyer has been named the new T20 captain, while Tilak Varma will serve as vice-captain. The squad includes players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan, Washington Sundar, Shivam Dube, Varun Chakravarthy, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who scored 776 runs in IPL 2026 and won the Orange Cap, has earned his first senior team call-up. The BCCI has also announced India’s squad for the 2026 Asian Games. Jasprit Bumrah has been included in that team.
Suryakumar Yadav has been left out of the T20 squad, marking a major change in leadership. The selectors will now look to Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy for the upcoming tours.
