The weather office has issued an Orange warning for eight districts i.e. Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.
State bracing for pre-monsoon, orange warning for 8 districts: Kalbaisakhi will continue across the state for the next few days. The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued an alert against thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds till June 10.
The weather office has issued an Orange warning for eight districts i.e. Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore. These districts are likely to experience thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty surface winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 60 kmph.
For the next 24 hours In addition Yellow warning has been issued for 15 districts for next 24 hours. these districts will receive lightning and strong winds speeding from 40 to 50 kmph, the department said.
Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon is steadily advancing across the country. According to the weather department, the monsoon has progressed further into parts of the Arabian Sea, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
