India- Sri Lanka warm-up encounter tomorrow, Bumrah out of series: India and Sri Lanka will face off in a two-match Test series beginning on August 15. Before this, the Indian team under the captaincy of Shubman Gill will play a 3-day warm-up match against Sri Lanka XI, which will start from 07th August.
The match will be held at the Nondescript Cricket Club Ground in Colombo. Through this warm-up match, the Indian team will be able to test the conditions for the Test series. The Sri Lankan XI will field a mix of young and experienced players. The Sri Lankan team will feature 7 players who played for Sri Lanka-A against India-A in June-July. Sai Sudharsan is expected to miss the match after reportedly being ruled out of the Sri Lanka tour due to injury. At the same time, Jasprit Bumrah has been out of the entire series.
25-year-old Sonal Dinusha has been appointed as the captain of the SLC XI team. Fast bowlers Lahiru Kumara and Vishwa Fernando, off-spinner Ramesh Mendis, batsmen Nishan Madushka, Pawan Ratnayake and wicketkeeper Anjala Bandara are part of the squad.
Sonal Dinusha made his Test debut against Bangladesh last year and has played three Tests so far.
