IPL From Started From Today : The 19th edition of the IPL (Indian Premier League), the most expensive league in international T20 cricket, is set to begin from Saturday. It will continue till May 31. A total of 74 matches will be played between 10 participating teams. The matches of this franchise-based league will be held at 13 venues including Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mulanpur, Mumbai and Raipur. The opening match will be played between defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and 2016 champions Sunrisers Hyderabad. The match will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
In the last edition, 11 fans lost their lives at Dalachakta during the victory procession held on June 4 after RCB became champions. As a result, doubts were raised about whether the match would be held in Bengaluru this time. But after the Karnataka State Cricket Association and RCB management took all the necessary security measures, the match has become possible again at Chinnaswamy. The Karnataka Cricket Association has decided to keep 11 seats in the stadium permanently vacant during the match. RCB players will wear jersey number 11 during the practice match and will wear orange armbands during the match. While last time champions RCB are aiming to retain the title this time, Sunrisers are aiming to regain their previous glory. The team failed to perform as expected in the last edition and finished in 6th place. This time, with all the teams being re-formed, the IPL is expected to be a struggle from the start.
