Iranian missiles hit UAE tankers; 1 Indian killed, 6 injured: The ongoing war in the Middle East has become extremely violent and uncontrollable. On Tuesday morning, the Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) confirmed shocking news. Iran has launched a major attack with cruise missiles on the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz.

Two UAE-flagged commercial oil tankers – ‘Mombasa’ and ‘Bahia’ were targeted in this fierce missile attack. The attack happened when these ships were passing through Omani waters. The attack resulted in the death of one Indian crew member aboard the Mombasa tanker. According to the UAE Ministry of Defence, the injured included 6 Indians and 2 Ukrainians. In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Defence condemned the strike as a serious violation of International law and a threat to regional security and stability. The UAE has issued a stern warning that it reserves the right to respond to Iran’s agreement to protect its people, land and national interests. The UAE army has been put on high alert.

Earlier on Monday, US President Donald Trump imposed 20% tariff on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz. He declared himself  as the ‘guardian of the Strait of Hormuz’. He also said that this important waterway will be completely open to all countries under the supervision of the United States, only Iranian-related ships and customers will be prohibited from using this route.
