The Jammu and Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee has called for a strike on June 9. Amid this growing tension the internet and mobile services has also been suspended till June 12.
JAAC called for a strike on June 9, internet services banned: At the same time, the administration of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir has issued an advisory for tourists and outsiders. According to sources, people have been asked to leave the area immediately. Tourism activities have also been stopped from June 5 to June 20.
According to intelligence sources, Shahzaib Habib, a member of the Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee was killed in a firing incident in Rawalkot. Another prominent member of the committee, Umar Nazir, was injured. Seven other people have also been injured in this action in Rawlakot district. Apart from this, many arrests and injuries have been reported from other areas of POK. Pakistan’s security agencies launched a major operation in Rawalkot Saturday night, sources said.
Constant arrests, internet bans and security crackdowns have made the atmosphere in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir more tense.
