Karwa Chauth Gift: Delhi CM hands over Rs 1 lakh each to newlyweds: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday presented Karwa Chauth gift kits to newly married women. This was a special surprise for those young women who are observing Karva Chauth for the first time after their marriage.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented cheques worth ₹1 lakh each and Karwa Chauth kits to 51 newly married couples during a special event at her official residence, Jan Seva Sadan. The beneficiaries were women whose marriages were solemnised at a mass wedding ceremony organised by the Ladli Foundation in March. The CM also spoke to the women about their married lives and listened to their experiences.
She said, ‘As an elder sister to every daughter in Delhi, I stand with her. Don’t be afraid of any difficulties; speak openly.’ She urged the daughters to pursue their dreams with confidence, create their own identity, and move forward in life. During this period, a total of 51 daughters were provided financial assistance of ₹5.1 million. CM also congratulated the women on their first Karwa Chauth and wished them a happy, prosperous, and fulfilling married life.
