Want to remove spice odour from mixer jar? Vinegar wash is a good option for deep cleaning
Kitchen Tips: Jar smells like spices? Try these easy fixes: Now-a-days grinding spices in a mixer jar is common in most household. But after grinding some spices like cumin, garlic, ginger, onion, garam masala or red chilies, its strong smell remain in the jar. Despite thorough washing, the spice odour still remains.
In this situation some simple home remedies can help you to get rid of such smell of spices from the jar.
Do general cleaning
Before cleaning the jar, remove the remaining spices well. After this, wash the jar with a little dishwash liquid in lukewarm water. Use a soft brush or sponge to clean the blades. At the same time, clean the rubber gasket and edges of the lid as well, because small particles of spices get stuck here.

Lemon wash
The natural aroma of lemon helps to reduce the odour of spices left in the jar. Take some lukewarm water in a jar and add lemon juice to it. Leave it for a few minutes. After washing, leave the jar open to dry.
Baking soda
If the smell is too strong, baking soda is a great option. Put some baking soda in a jar and mix it with water to make a light paste. Keep this mixture on the inner surface of the jar for some time. Then clean with a soft sponge and rinse thoroughly with water. This also helps in removing grease and spices stuck in the jar.

Vinegar
White vinegar can also be used for deep cleaning to remove spice odour from the jar. Mix water and vinegar in a jar and let it sit for a few minutes. After this, wash the jar thoroughly with clean water.
Some people have the habit of closing the jar immediately after cleaning. This may retain smell of spice. So, it is always better to use the jar only after drying it completely.
