Kohli was set to return to international cricket after a long break. He was last seen in action for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, helping the team win the IPL title with a match-winning knock in the final against the Gujarat Titans.

After the IPL, Kohli visited Vrindavan with his wife, Anushka Sharma, and sought blessings at Prem Anand Maharaj’s ashram. Fans were hoping to see him in action against Afghanistan, but his injury has come as disappointing news.
