Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2 pm: Today is the second day of the monsoon session of Parliament. The proceedings of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been adjourned till 2 pm due to heavy ruckus by the opposition.
As the second day of the Monsoon Session began in the Rajya Sabha, Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge raised the issue of the student protest and the police lathi charge on protesters. Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan then adjourned the House till 12 noon. Then, the NEET paper leak, the Ram temple offering controversy, and many other issues tried to corner the government. After heavy uproar from the opposition parties, the proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm.
In the meantime, the Centre has appealed to Opposition parties to ensure the smooth functioning of Parliament in the interest of national development, urging them to participate in constructive debates and support the eight bills listed for consideration. The Monsoon Session, with changed political equations following fractures in the opposition ranks, is scheduled to run until August 13 and will comprise 19 sittings over 25 days.
