Lt Col Deepak Kumar Sharma Arrested For Accepting Bribe, Rs 2.23 Crore Cash Seized From His Residence

 The CBI has taken major action in a bribery case. The CBI has arrested a Lieutenant Colonel from the Defence Production Department of the Ministry of Defence. The CBI has arrested Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Kumar in a bribery case.

Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Kumar Sharma. Rs 2.23 crore cash seized from his residence. Lieutenant Colonel Deepak was working in the Defence Production Department under the Ministry of Defence. He has been arrested on charges of taking Rs 3 lakh from a company in Bengaluru.

On December 19, the Ministry of Defence received a bribery complaint against him, on which the CBI took action and arrested Vinod Kumar, who had paid a bribe of Rs 3 lakh, and then raided Deepak Kumar’s houses in Delhi, Bengaluru and Rajasthan.

During the raid, Rs 2.23 crore in cash, besides Rs 3 lakh in bribe money, was seized from the Delhi residence of Lieutenant Colonel Deepak Kumar. After the arrest, the CBI produced both of them in court, where they were sent to judicial custody till December 23.
