Meta- Reliance partnership; plans to set up data centre in India

Meta in collaboration with Reliance Industries has planned to build its first AI (Artificial Intelligence) based data center in India. This agreement will further strengthen the already existing strategic relationship between Meta and Reliance.

Meta- Reliance partnership; plans to set up data centre in India: US multinational tech company Meta in collaboration with Reliance Industries has planned to build its first AI (Artificial Intelligence) based data center in India. Amid growing competition on AI at the global level, Meta is pushing to increase its computing capacity. Through this partnership, the company wants to strengthen the infrastructure related to AI in India.

Reliance Industries will develop a large data center with a capacity of 168 MW in Jamnagar, Gujarat as per the new partnership. The company aims to have it ready within the next two years. Future capacity can further be expanded if demand increases. Reliance will be responsible for design, construction, power management, renewable energy, network connectivity and other technical services in this project.

This agreement will further strengthen the already existing strategic relationship between Meta and Reliance.  In an interview, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani expressed confidence that Jamnagar will emerge as a major AI computing hub in the future and is proud to partner with Meta to achieve this goal.
