NTA Cancels NEET UG 2026 Exam Amid Paper Leak Controversy
NEET UG 2026 Cancelled Amid Paper Leak Allegations, CBI Begins Investigation: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination after serious allegations of a paper leak surfaced in several states, including Rajasthan. Reports claimed that nearly 125 questions in a circulated “guess paper” matched the actual examination paper, creating doubts about the fairness of the country’s biggest medical entrance exam. Following these revelations, the NTA decided to cancel the exam conducted on May 3.
The agency announced that the examination will now be held again on a new date, which will be declared soon. Students will not have to register again, and no extra examination fee will be charged. Fresh admit cards will be issued for all candidates, while the previously selected exam centres will remain unchanged. Officials have also advised students to trust only official notifications and avoid misinformation on social media.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the alleged leak has been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The NTA said it is committed to conducting examinations in a “fair, secure and credible” manner. According to the agency, complaints and suspicious activities related to the exam were referred to central investigating agencies on May 8 for detailed inquiry. The controversy has once again raised concerns over the transparency and security of national-level competitive examinations.
