Pathan’s ‘Afghan Jalebi’ Dance Sparks Buzz After India Beat Pakistan: India lifted the Asia Cup trophy after a match-winning knock from Tilak Varma, who played a calm and composed unbeaten innings of 69 runs to guide the team to victory at the Dubai International Stadium.
Chasing a target of 147, India were in early trouble, losing two wickets for just 10 runs in the third over. Walking in under pressure, Tilak steadied the innings with patience and maturity. He rotated the strike smartly and accelerated when required, anchoring the chase to ensure India crossed the finish line despite losing three wickets for 20 runs at one stage.
Earlier, Pakistan had made a strong start. Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan added 84 runs off just 58 balls, putting India on the back foot. By the 13th over, Pakistan were cruising at 113 for three. However, India bounced back strongly with disciplined bowling, restricting them to 146 after a sudden collapse.

India’s victory sparked celebrations across the country, including from former all-rounder Irfan Pathan. Known for his energetic celebrations, Irfan shared a dance video on Instagram grooving to the popular song Afghan Jalebi. He captioned the post: “Well done Team India, this dance is a name in Garba during Navratri. Tilak Verma you beauty.”
Pathan also took to social media platform X to post a cheeky message aimed at Pakistan, writing, “How was your Sunday, neighbours? I know. I can’t hear you anyway.”
Comparing Tilak’s innings to Virat Kohli, Irfan praised the youngster, saying he played a “Virat Kohli-like innings in the final — calm, composed and under pressure — the best innings of his career so far.”
With this strong comeback win, India once again proved their dominance on the big stage and added another Asia Cup title to their cabinet.
